My favourite type of meal when cooking for myself is a one-pot affair. Went to the market this morning and came back to throw a bit of everything into this porridge hotpot: prawns, pork ribs, fishballs, some greens and fish sperm. Yes, fish sperm (the white sac at the top). My father always referred to it as 鱼蛋 (fish egg) and I thought it was fish roe but guess we were both wrong. This is essentially a giant shirako.
