Uni (Sea urchin) last night at A16. It was fresh -- shipped that day. It melted in my mouth. Mmmmm. I don't usually see uni as an appetizer so I had to get it but only after asking several questions and requesting that the chili be put on the side (I wanted to taste the uni). Now, if only they'll put it in the pasta. I got the squid ink pasta with Dungeness crab .. Smh...there was really no crab meat. On the menu they listed Meyer Lemon as an ingredient. It was so subtle I wouldn't have known there was lemon in it. I'd go back to A16 if I felt like uni or that free appetizer they gave us but never the pasta again. Pizza was good but nothing to go back for. Service was great though! Probably the top 3 best service I've had in Oakland. Wood Tavern and alaMar being the other two. P.S If you can't get a table through Open Table, just call the restaurant. It was empty when we got there.
